SANTA FE DAY TRIPS

(Each trip will equal one day of skiing)

BANDELIER has been the #1 favorite for the past several years for our drill teams. At Bandelier, explore over 32,000 acres of wilderness and ancient cliff dwellings once occupied by the Anasazi Indians as early as 1100 A. D. Your guide will lead them to areas where they will be climbing ladders to “kivas” original ceremonial locations, into ancient dwellings, into caves, and over the land of the first peoples in the land of the Americas. Picnic lunch will be provided.

TAOS GUIDED TOUR journeys into Northern New Mexico, land of high pikes and old traditions. Away from the hustle of modern day life, life slows down with remembrances of a wild west where all battles would come to a temporary halt for the trade fair to begin. Plains Indians, Pueblo Indians, French fur trappers, and local Spanish colonists would converge on Taos for much needed goods. Today, visitors come with anticipation of finding the Old West still intact. The old plaza still is the center of life in this northern village.

Taos has an abundant offering of art, history and culture preserved in her many museums.

A breathtaking photo stop will be offered of the Rio Grande Gorge. San Francisco de Assisi Church is the most photographed church in North America, made famous by artist Georgia O’Keefe. This early 18^th century adobe structure is lovingly preserved each year by the local community. Lunch will be provided.

HORSEBACK RIDING IN CERRILLOS –At its peak in the 1880’s, Cerrillos supported 21 saloons and 4 hotels. Clients for these were the hearty miners who extracted gold, silver, lead, zinc and some of the world’s finest turquoise (Angel White) from the nearby hills. Cerrillos now has numerous shops, and native craft items to purchase at some of the local artist markets. Horse back riding will be with the “Broken Saddle Riding Company Incorporated (www.brokensaddle.com ) . Riding is through the scenic hills and high desert ranch from the historic town of Cerrillos. Rides include 360 views of all area mountain ranges. Lunch will be provided.

Thursday
· Arrive in Santa Fe, NM in morning for breakfast and shopping.
· Check in to Hilton of Santa Fe
· Lunch at The Burrito Company downtown within walking distance of hotel
· Remainder of the Afternoon on own for shopping and sightseeing.
· Catered Dinner at hotel

Friday
